PRINCETON, NJ - J.J. Jumper, the official mascot of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Basketball, is returning to Jadwin Gymnasium for a second year in a row on Tuesday, March 7th, when the Princeton Men's and Women's Basketball squads battle Ivy League rival, the University of Pennsylvania. The mascot will perform throughout the games as part of the NCAA's commitment to promote youth basketball participation and sportsmanship.
J.J. Jumper will provide an evening of fun and entertainment for the entire family, as the mascot entertains the crowd to make the game day experience at Princeton even more exciting. J.J. will be on hand for both games to entertain all fans in attendance with his antics and an array of giveaways that will be distributed to fans. The mascot will also be available to sign autographs in between the women's and men's contests.
The Lady Tigers will tip off against the Quakers at 6:15 pm, with the men's contest - scheduled to air nationally on ESPNU - to follow at 9 pm. For those looking to head straight to the games after school or work, grab a bite to eat at the Backcourt Bistro, located inside Jadwin Gymnasium on the east court. The Bistro will be opening at 5:15 pm and will remain open during both contests. Tickets for these games can be purchased in person on the day of the game or in advance at the Princeton Athletics ticket office, over the phone at 609.258.3538 or on line by clicking here. The ticket office is open from 10 am to 4 pm, Monday-Thursday, and 10 am until 2 pm on Friday.
J.J. Jumper was created in 1999, in part to help member institutions reach their younger fans. J.J. Jumper was developed through a study done by NCAA Basketball, and the concept has received a positive response from both youth and adults.
