PVC to Host 2nd Annual Princeton Athletics Golf Classic

Princeton, N.J. -Princeton University's Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Princeton Athletics Golf Classic, hosted by the Princeton Varsity Club will be held on Monday, May 8 at the scenic Springdale Golf Club in Princeton, NJ. A shotgun tee time is set for 1:00 PM and the tournament format will be a four-person scramble.
Join Princeton coaches, student athletes, and staff for a day of golfing fun at Springdale Golf Club as we host the many people who help make Princeton Athletics successful. These include members of the Princeton Varsity Club, Tiger Corporate Partners, and alumni and friends of Princeton Athletics. Princeton Athletics coaches and teams scheduled to attend include: Football coach Roger Hughes, Men's Ice Hockey coach Guy Gadowsky, Men's Lacrosse coach Bill Tierney, Women's Lacrosse coach Chris Sailer, Golf coaches Will Green and Dick Hunt, along with the Princeton Men's and Women's Golf Teams, and many more!! The cost for individual registration for the general public is $350 per person. Members of the Princeton Varsity Club, Tiger Corporate Partners and members of the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce will receive at $50 discount on their registration fee. Bring a foursome and receive a special rate of $1100. There are also various sponsorship opportunities available for the event, ranging in price from $1,000 - $12,000. Donations are being accepted, as well, for the silent auction. All proceeds will benefit the Princeton University Athletic Department.
The day will feature pre and post tournament social events, as well as various golf competitions, such as longest drive and closest to the pin. Participants will also receive free gifts and have the opportunity to bid on great silent auction items that include Princeton athletic experiences and memorabilia. Guy Gadowsky, Head Men's Ice Hockey Coach, states, "The Princeton Athletics Golf Classic is a great event which brings our coaches and staff together with the people that support our program. I always enjoy an opportunity to get to know the members of the Princeton Athletics community in a casual setting and Springdale is the perfect site."
Springdale Golf Club is a picturesque course located amidst the graduate college at Princeton University, and includes 18 holes of scenic views of the Princeton Campus. Listed by Golf Magazine as "One of the First 100 Golf Courses in America," Springdale was opened in 1915 by alumni, faculty and undergraduates of the University. It can trace its roots back to two nine-hole golf courses opened in 1896.
