The Princeton men's lacrosse team has reached the quarterfinal round of the NCAA tournament for the 15th time in the last 17 years. Will the 2006 team do what 10 other Tiger teams have previously done in this round and advance to the Final Four? That answer will come Sunday, when the seventh-seeded Tigers take on No. 2 Maryland in the first quarterfinal at Towson (noon, ESPNU).

History lesson - Princeton and Maryland meet for the sixth time since 1994. All six have come in the NCAA tournament; Princeton has won each of the previous five.
Recent history - Princeton defeated Maryland 9-8 in the 2004 NCAA quarterfinals at the University of Virginia. Peter Trombino scored the game-winning goal 1:42 into overtime after Princeton had rallied with two goals by Ryan Boyle in the final two minutes of regulation to tie it, including one with 12 seconds left. The one and Trombino-nly - Peter Trombino's overtime goal against Maryland in the 2004 quarterfinals is the only NCAA tournament overtime goal scored by any active Division I player (prior to the start of the 2006 quarterfinals).
You guys still here? - Of the 17 goals scored in the 2004 NCAA quarterfinal game between Princeton and Maryland, nine were scored by players who will play in this year's game: Princeton's Whitney Hayes (2), Peter Trombino (1) and Jim O'Brien (1) and Maryland's Brendan Healy (2), Bill McGlone (1) and Joe Walters (1).
