March 31, 2007 | Men's Volleyball
The Princeton men's volleyball team suffered a damaging 3-1 loss Saturday at East Stroudsburg. Princeton got 12 kills from sophomore outside hitter Phillip Rosenberg, but the team hitting from the Tigers was below .200 in each of their three losses. The defeat could come back to haunt the Tigers when the final seeding for the 2007 EIVA tournament is decided.
Princeton fell to 8-8 overall, 6-5 in the EIVA Tait Division, with a 30-25, 30-21, 23-30, 30-18 loss to ESU, which improved to 8-9, 3-5 with the win. Princeton has one more Tait Division match remaining, which will take place April 14 at George Mason.
Sophomore Phillip Rosenberg led Princeton with 12 kills, while junior captain Peter Eichler added 11. Sophomore Mike Vincent recorded 10 kills and four blocks from the middle, although Princeton managed only six team kills. Freshman Carl Hamming did a nice job on the right side, killing seven balls and hitting .400 in the match.
