"When Brendan was a freshman, his writing seminar instructor told me that he was one of the brightest kids he'd seen in his time at Princeton," said men's lacrosse coach Bill Tierney. "Brendan does his job. He's quiet. He never makes mistakes. If I've said 10 words to him since he's been here, it's a lot." Reilly is a shortstick defensive midfielder who played in all 14 games for Princeton in 2007, when the Tigers allowed a Division I-best 6.2 goals per game. Reilly and Zack Goldberg return this year as Princeton's top two shortsticks. In addition to his lacrosse work, Reilly has already completed officer training for the United States Marine Corps at Quantico. He is also interested in working at the U.S. Department of Defense or State or for the Defense Intelligence Agency. "He's going to be a heckuva Marine and then whatever else he ends up doing in the nation's service," said Tierney. "We are so fortunate to have special kids like this at Princeton. Brendan is a tribute to the University."
