February 09, 2008 | Men's Squash
The No. 2 Princeton men's squash team has won two straight Ivy League titles, and it can clinch No. 3 with a Sunday victory at Harvard. The Tigers took care of business Saturday, winning 27 of 28 games in a 9-0 victory over the Dartmouth Big Green.
Princeton, coming off its brilliant 9-0 win over Yale last weekend, didn't let up against Dartmouth. No. 1 player Mauricio Sanchez kept up his bid for a second straight Ivy League Player of the Year honor with a 9-3, 9-7, 9-2 win over Andrew Boumford, while freshman David Letourneau improved his Rookie of the Year campaign with a 9-3, 9-2, 9-0 win over Adam King at No. 3.
No. 5 Hesham El Halaby and No. 6 Santiago Imberton combined to lose only three points in their respective 3-0 wins.
Princeton will take on Harvard Sunday at noon for the outright Ivy League title. The Crimson is 5-1, 4-0 in the Ivy League and ranked third nationally. While Princeton goes for the Ivy League title, it will hope to have three more matches next weekend on the same the Barnaby Courts, where the 2008 CSA team championships will be held Feb. 15-17.
