Men's Water Polo Defeated at 3rd-Ranked USC

LOS ANGELES (10/9/09) -- The 14th-ranked Princeton men's water polo team fell 14-3 at third-ranked USC on Friday night in the first of its five games this weekend in California. Princeton will play in the UCI Invitational beginning tomorrow morning.
USC raced to a big lead in the first half scoring 11 goals and holding the Tigers off the scoreboard. Princeton broke through in the third quarter and scoring was even in the second half as each team netted three goals. Senior Peter Schulam and freshmen Billy Tifft and Tim Wenzlau provided the Princeton goals.
The Tigers will face another tough test tomorrow morning as they meet top-ranked Stanford in the opening game of the UCI Invitational.
