Men's Water Polo Splits Pair on Final Day of UCI Invitational

In the day's first game, Pacific built a 5-1 lead early in the second quarter and held off a Princeton charge in the second half. Senior Eric Vreeland's goal with 17 seconds left in the third quarter drew Princeton within two goals at 6-4 before Pacific's Joey Gullikson scored his third goal of the game with 7:35 remaining in the game for a 7-4 lead. The Tigers added one more but could get no closer in the loss.
Senior Mark Zalewski scored two goals and three others added single scores. Junior goalkeeper Mike Merlone made eight saves in the loss.

In Game 2, three straight goals late in the third quarter and early in the fourth extended Princeton's lead to 13-8 and the Tigers took control down the stretch to defeat Redlands 15-12 at the UCI Invitational.
Vreeland led the Princeton offense with five goals in the win, while freshman Tim Wenzlau scored four goals. Six others added single goals and Merlone made eight saves in goal.
