Women's Hockey Falls 4-1 at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. (11/13/09) -- Dartmouth scored twice in the first period to build an early lead in a 4-1 win over the Princeton women's hockey team on Friday night at Thompson Arena. Junior Laura Martindale scored a power-play goal for the Tigers in the loss.
Dartmouth's Sasha Nanji opened the scoring 10 minutes into the game and Kelly Foley gave the Big Green a 2-0 lead two minutes later.
Princeton edged back within a goal 1:14 into the second period when Martindale scored on a point shot. Junior Sasha Sherry assisted her second goal of the season.
Dartmouth completed the scoring with two goals from Sarah Toupal at 19:26 of second and third periods. The one in the second period was on the power play and the goal in the third was an empty netter.
Shots for the game finished even at 22 apiece. Princeton sophomore goaltender Rachel Weber made 18 saves while Dartmouth's Mariel Lacina stopped 21.
Princeton is now 4-2-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the ECAC. The Tigers play at Harvard tomorrow at 4 p.m.
