Men's Squash Sweeps No. 6 Rochester
February 01, 2009 | Men's Squash
The Princeton men's squash team built on its impressive 7-2 victory over No. 3 Yale with a 9-0 victory over the sixth-ranked Rochester Yellowjackets Sunday at the Jadwin Squash Courts.
Princeton won 27 of 29 games against Rochester, including all three in eight of the nine matches. The most exciting match of the contest came at the No. 8 position, where Tiger freshman Jesus Pena pulled out a 9-5, 4-9, 9-4, 3-9, 9-5 win over Joe Chapman. Otherwise, Princeton swept its Rochester counterparts, including a 9-3, 9-2, 9-6 victory for No. 1 Mauricio Sanchez over Jim Bristow.
Princeton will remain home next weekend to take on both Dartmouth and Harvard; a sweep of the two teams will give the Tigers their fourth straight Ivy League championship, an unprecedented feat for Princeton men's squash.
