Men's Volleyball Moves Back To .500 With Road Win At NYU

Junior Carl Hamming recorded 15 kills and five blocks to lead the Princeton men's volleyball team to a 3-1 road victory at NYU Tuesday night. The win improved the Tigers to 8-8 overall.
Princeton rallied from an early deficit in the opening set and claimed a 30-27 victory from the Violets in the opener. After NYU took the second set, the Princeton offense started to roll. The Tigers hit .500 in the third and .682 in the fourth to finish a 30-27, 25-30, 30-19, 30-16 victory.
Princeton had double-digit kills from four starters, including outside hitters Vincent Tuminelli and Phillip Rosenberg. Tuminelli had 12 kills with zero errors, while Rosenberg added 11 kills, three aces and three digs. Senior middle Mike Vincent continued his strong final season with 12 kills and seven blocks, including three solos. Senior setter Brandon Denham paced the offense with 53 assists and added five digs.
Princeton will now play the remainder of its season inside the EIVA Tait Division, beginning Friday at Springfield (7 p.m.). The Tigers are currently sixth in the division and need to stay in that position to earn a berth into the EIVA postseason.
