Volleyball Concludes Season With George Mason, Sacred Heart
April 14, 2011 | Men's Volleyball
The Princeton men's volleyball team will conclude its 2011 season with a Friday night road match at George Mason and a Saturday home showdown with Sacred Heart.
Princeton concludes its Tait Division series Friday night at George Mason, which will be the second seed in the EIVA postseason; a slow start to the season left the Tigers on the outside of the EIVA postseason, though they have showed significant progress in the last couple weeks. That was most evident on April 8, when Princeton rallied from a 2-0 deficit to force a fifth set against the ninth-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes.
Sacred Heart also missed the playoffs on a divisional tiebreak to NYU, but they came into this weekend with 12 victories.
Princeton will also honor its three-man senior class before Saturday's match. Vincent Tuminelli is a three-year starter and made the EIVA all-tournament team after leading Princeton to the 2010 Eastern final at Penn State. Keenan McCarthy moved into the starting lineup at middle and leads Princeton in blocks. John Morris has provided depth at setter and has been one of the motivating leaders off the court for this team.
