Dexter Scobee Earns Spot On EIVA 2011 All-Academic Team
April 25, 2011 | Men's Volleyball
Junior Dexter Scobee, a libero for the Princeton men's volleyball team, earned one of 14 spots on the 2011 EIVA All-Academic Team.
Scobee, a Phoenix native who is studying Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, was a versatile member of the Princeton team this past season. He was used as both a libero and a server and saw consistent time during the final month of the season.
"Dexter has been a great member of the men's volleyball team for the past three years," head coach Sam Shweisky said. "Dexter is our wellness leader and looks out for all the guys on the team. Dexter has played an integral role this year as a both starting libero as well as a serving specialist/defensive specialist. His energy and enthusiasm are contagious and we always seem to go on a run of points when he is on the floor. Dexter's commitment to his academic pursuits are unparalleled and his study in the Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering department is one of the more challenging majors at Princeton. We are very proud of Dexter for this achievement."
One of his biggest off-court contributions this season came during Princeton's California trip, when he helped arrange for Team USA Captain Tom Hoff (pictured) to be the keynote speaker at Princeton's Alumni match reception.
