Schreiber, Wiedmaier Named First-Team All-America

The last time they played together, in the opening round of the NCAA tournament, Chad Wiedmaier was holding last year's Tewaaraton Trophy winner to a single assist and Tom Schreiber was either scoring or assisting on 80% of his team's goals.
It's no wonder they are teammates on more than just the Princeton men's lacrosse team.
Wiedmaier capped his phenomenal Princeton career by being named a USILA first-team All-America as a defenseman. Schreiber's career is only at the halfway point as he too is named a first-team All-America.
Goalie Tyler Fiorito was a second-team All-America selection. Longstick midfielder John Cunningham was an honorable mention selection.
The four All-Americas led Princeton as it equaled the school record for greatest improvement from one season to the next. The 2012 Tigers went 11-5 overall after going 4-8 in 2011, a seven-win turnaround equaled only when the 1946 team went 8-2 a year after a 1-5 season.
Princeton also went a perfect 6-0 in the Ivy League for the outright championship, giving the program 26 Ivy titles all time.
Princeton joined Virginia, Duke and Notre Dame as the only schools with more than one first-team All-America.
Wiedmaier, one of the great cover defensemen in Princeton history and a monster at creating turnovers off the ball, is the first four-time first-team All-Ivy League men's lacrosse player in Princeton history and second in Ivy League history, along with former Cornell midfielder Max Siebald.
Wiedmaier's final game as a Tiger came in the 6-5 loss to Virgina in the NCAA tournament, during which Wiedmaier held Steele Stanwick to just one assist (Stanwick had a goal when Wiedmaier wasn't on him). Stanwick, the 2011 Tewaaraton Trophy winner, came back to have two goals and five assists against Notre Dame in the quarterfinals.
Schreiber finished his sophomore season with 32 goals and 28 assists, giving him 60 points for the year, good for ninth-place on Princeton's single-season list. He is one of four players in program history with at least 30 goals and 25 assists in the same season and came within two assists of being the second to have a 30/30 season.
Schreiber had at least three points in 14 of 16 games, and he finished the year with two goals and two assists in against UVa.
Like the two first-team picks, Fiorito had a huge game against Virginia with 12 saves, many of them spectacular. A three-time first-team All-Ivy pick, Fiorito finished his career second all-time at Princeton with 624 saves, second all-time at Princeton.
Cunningham, the longstick midfielder, finished his career with 11 points, the most by a Princeton pole in at least 30 years.
Cunningham, Fiorito and Wiedmaier are now beginning their Major League Lacrosse careers.
