All-America Caraun Reid Leads Defensive Line, The Focus Of Preview Video #4

When Caraun Reid lines up from one play to the next, there will be plenty of eyes on him. Coaches, fans and NFL scouts will be among them, but even those won't be nearly as focused as the 22 eyes on the opposite side of the ball.
The Preseason All-America and team co-captain has earned that level of respect (fear?), but Reid knows that he can not make this defense run by himself. He joined with Mike Catapano, the 2012 Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year, to create the league's best line tandem last season.
Catapano is now in Kansas City after being selected in the NFL Draft, but Reid is back and ready to puntuate his career with his best season yet. And there are plenty of potential candidates to create a new powerhouse tandem.
In the fourth part of Princeton's seven-part video preview series on the 2013 football season, the panel begins its analysis of the defense with a look at an experienced set of starters up front.
Reid may have been overshadowed by Catapano's Bushnell Cup performance, but the former earned All-America and first-team All-Ivy honors with 40 tackles, including 9.5 for losses, and 5.5 sacks. He took over the 19-0 win over Brown, earning Defensive Player of the Week honors with six tackles, including four for losses, and 2.5 sacks. You can watch the preview series video, which includes PrincetonTigersFootball.com writer Jay Greenberg and Princeton radio commentator Dan Loney, by clicking on the play link on the image above.
