September 15, 2013 | Men's Water Polo
Drew Hoffenberg paced the offense with five goals to lead the No. 14 Princeton men's water polo team to a 14-7 win over Harvard Saturday evening at DeNunzio Pool.
The Tigers (2-0) will look to remain undefeated over their opening weekend at the Princeton Invitational, as they conclude the tournament with Iona at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Along with his five goals, Hoffenberg notched team-bests in assists and steals with three apiece.
Joining the junior co-captain as multi-goal scorers were Curtis Fink, Jovan Jeremic, Jamie Kuprenas and Kayj Shannon with two each. The goals were the first of freshman Fink's young career.
Making his first appearance of the year, veteran goalie Ben Dearborn picked up his first win following his 12-save complete game performance. He also added a steal and an assist.
Princeton managed the scoreboard throughout the contest, but had to get past Harvard's early push. The Tigers held a one-goal advantage after the first quarter, 4-3, but employed an 8-3 run over the second and third to secure the lead.
