Preseason Preview Videos: Offensive Line l Offensive Skill l Quarterbacks l Defensive Line
Linebackers l Defensive Backfield l Overview
Princeton returns two potential kickers in junior Brendan Sofen and sophomore Nolan Bieck, the latter of whom served as the Tigers' placekicker throughout the 2012 season. It will need to replace both punter Joe Cloud, a multiple All-Ivy honoree, and long snapper Jason Tiemeier, and freshmen Tyler Roth and Pat Hall are potential candidates for both spots.
Sophomore Anthony Gaffney returns as a first-team All-Ivy League returner — the first time he touched the ball in an Ivy game, he returned a kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown — while Matt Costello also returns as a potential punt returner.
Special teams can often decide one or two close games per season, and in a league expected to have great parity, those games may be the difference between a championship and a spot in the pack.
