| 1974 | Men's volleyball, formerly an intercollegiate club team, earns club varsity status. Susana Occhi serves as coach. |
| 1975 | Princeton competed in the Eastern Colleqiate Volleyball League Championships. |
| 1979 | Glenn Nelson is hired as the men's head coach. He would go on to win more than 500 matches for the men. |
| 1982 | Princeton goes 22-2 and places third in the ECVL. The Tigers would win 20 and place third in 1984 as well. |
| 1990 | Led by Marin Gjaja, the first All-America honoree in program history, the Tigers go 28-1 and only lose to George Mason in the East playoffs. |
| 1997 | Princeton earns full varsity status. Derek Devens becomes Princeton's second All-America honoree. |
| 1998 | Princeton shocks Penn State in the EIVA semifinal, then tops Rutgers-Newark 3-0 to make its only trip to the NCAA Championships. The Tigers reached as high as No. 11 in the national rankings. |
| 2009 | Glenn Nelson, the winningest coach in Princeton history, announces his retirement. |
| 2010 | Sam Shweisky becomes head coach and leads Princeton to its first EIVA final since 1998. He is named the EIVA Head Coach of the Year. |
| 2014 | Princeton ends a 35-match losing streak to Penn State and returns to the EIVA final. Cody Kessel becomes the third All-America in program history. |
The 150th anniversary of the first intercollegiate athletic event in Princeton University history will be Nov. 22, 2014, which will be 150 years to the day that Princeton defeated Williams 27-16 in a baseball game. As part of the 150th celebration, Princeton will be commemorating the history of each of its 38 varsity teams, in reverse order of the time they became varsity programs.
