The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup, presented by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, just turned 21. For the 18th time in those 21 years, Princeton has led the Ivy League.
Princeton finished first in the Ivy League and 44th in Division I in the 2013-14 Directors' Cup, whose final standings were announced today.
Princeton has also finished in the top 50 for the 18th time in 21 years. Princeton is the fourth-highest finisher from outside the five power conferences (SEC, Big Ten, Pac 12, Big 12, ACC), behind Louisville, BYU and Denver.
The Directors' Cup attempts to measure the top all-around programs in college athletics by awarding points based on participation and finish in NCAA championship events for men and women.
Princeton finished with 511.0 points after getting spring points from women's tennis, women's trac and field, women's lacrosse and women's rowing.
Princeton also finished first in the Ivy League (and 36th in Division I) in the Capital One Cup standings for women and first in the Ivy League (and 72nd in Division I) in the Capital One Cup standings for men.
