PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The 11th-ranked Princeton University men's water polo team extended its win streak to five games by defeating Cal Baptist and MIT at Brown University's Bruno Fall Classic. The Tigers began the day with a 13-7 triumph over the Lancers before downing the Engineers in the afternoon session, 14-8.
Evening its all-time record against Cal Baptist to 2-2 and improving to 10-0 versus MIT, Princeton will wrap up play at the this weekend's tournament with a showdown against No. 8 UC-Irvine on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 11:45 a.m.

The Princeton men's water polo team extended its win streak to four games with a 13-7 victory over Cal Baptist at the Bruno Fall Classic.
Holding a 4-0 lead after the first quarter, the Tigers outscored the Lancers 3-1 the following frame to take a six-goal lead into the intermission. Picking up where it left off at the break, Princeton accounted for five of the seven scores in the third before ultimately holding onto a 13-7 triumph.
Drew Hoffenberg paced the Tiger offense with three goals and an assist, while Thomas Nelson, Sam Butler and Bret Hinrichs each had a pair of tallies. Jordan Colina, Jamie Kuprenas, Jovan Jeremic and Connor McGoldrick all chipped in with a goal, while Curtis Fink and Bradley Wachtell dished out two assists apiece.
Colina and Nelson also combined for six steals and a block, while Butler and Kuprenas each finished with a pair of steals. Hoffenberg drew a team-high five ejections, while Princeton finished 3-1 on sprints. Continuing to shine in net, reigning Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week Vojislav Mitrovic posted 11 saves after surrendering just three goals through the first three quarters.

Behind a six-goal effort from Hoffenberg, Princeton closed out its first day at Brown University's Bruno Fall Classic with a 14-8 triumph over MIT.
Ahead 4-0 after the first quarter, the Tigers took a 6-2 margin into the locker room. Thanks to a big third period run, the Orange and Black headed into the final frame up 12-5 before eventually securing a six-goal decision.
Kuprenas added three goals and two assists for the Tigers, while Nelson had two goals and a steal. Colina, Fink and Eric Bowen accounted for Princeton's other three scores, with Colina, Fink and McGoldrick also combining for six assists. Colina led the Tigers with four steals, while Alex Gow made 14 saves in his second start of the season.
