Princeton Extends Win Streak With 18-9 Victory Over George Washington

PRINCETON, N.J. – The 12th-ranked Princeton University men's water polo team extended its win streak to four games with a decisive 18-9 victory over George Washington University at DeNunzio Pool.
Also upending the Colonials on Sept. 27 by a score of 14-9, the Tigers improved to 14-4 on the season while remaining unbeaten in Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Southern Division play (6-0).
Up 5-3 at the end of the first, the Tigers accounted for five of the seven goals in the second period. Outscoring George Washington 6-1 in the third quarter, Princeton did just enough down the stretch to hold onto a nine-goal margin of victory.
Ryan Wilson led the Tigers with four goals, two assists, and two steals, while Thomas Nelson had three goals, five steals, and two blocks. Jordan Colina finished with two goals and three assists, while Jovan Jeremic and Matt Payne each had a pair of goals. Jamie Kuprenas, Curtis Fink, Michael Swart, Connor McGoldrick, and Eric Bowen each chipped in with a score.
Getting the start, Vojislav Mitrovic made 12 saves in 13:56 minutes. Taking over at the 2:04 mark of the third quarter, Ryan Melosini recorded five stops.
Princeton returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 31 with a pair of games against Navy and Bucknell.
