BOX SCORE
The reigning Ivy League co-champion Harvard Crimson moved to 1-1 on the league season by holding court in a 25-19, 25-17, 25-21 victory over Princeton Friday evening. The loss keeps Princeton winless in league play, something the Tigers hope to change Saturday at 5 pm when they travel to Dartmouth.
Senior Kendall Peterkin and freshman Nnenna Ibe both recorded eight kills in the loss, with Ibe adding two blocks and hitting .429 throughout the match. That was one of several strong performances by the freshman class. Both Brittany Smith and Brooke Hershberger came off the bench and added four kills, with Smith hitting .500 during the match.
Senior Sarah Daschbach had 16 digs, while junior setter Lauren Miller had a team-best 25 assists.
Princeton battled tough after the disappointing second set and held several close leads through the run of play. The Crimson went back-and-forth with sideouts until they ran off the final four points at 21-21 to claim the win.
