HAMDEN, Conn. (11/13/15) - Freshman Karlie Lund scored the game-tying goal at 12:40 of the third period and senior Kimberly Newell made 30 saves as No. 10 Princeton skated to a 1-1 draw with No. 8 Quinnipiac on Friday.
Quinnipiac (6-1-3, 2-1-2 ECAC) had the momentum in the first period and Meghan Turner was able to convert it into a goal at 13:56. She scored on a rebound off a shot from the point by Cydney Roesler, with Nicole Brown assisting.
While trying to clear the puck, the Bobcats turned the puck over in the neutral zone and Lund took it in herself, soring her team's leading fourth goal of the season, firing a high shot over the glove of Sydney Rossman.
Princeton dominated the overtime period, making Rossman stop four of her 19 shots during that time.
Princeton, now 5-1-1 on the season and 3-1-1 in the league, will complete the home-and-home series tomorrow at 3 p.m., at historic Hobey Baker Rink.
