For the first time since the 1998 NCAA tournament, the Princeton men's volleyball team will play a match as a nationally ranked program. The Tigers, ranked 13th in the latest AVCA men's poll, will host Coker College Friday at 7 pm in Dillon Gym.
The match will be streamed live on the Ivy League Digital Network.
Princeton (5-4, 3-0 EIVA) has won four straight matches, including last Friday's 3-1 victory over a Harvard squad ranked 13th at the time. The performances of Cody Kessel and Junior Oboh in the victories over both Harvard and Sacred Heart earned the duo EIVA Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.
Kessel currently leads the EIVA and ranks second in the NCAA in both kills (4.85) and points (5.85) per set. Oboh moved to the top of the EIVA ranks and 10th in the NCAA with 1.26 blocks per set this season.
Princeton, which doesn't have a loss this season against a team currently ranked outside the Top 11, will try to keep that streak alive against Coker, which enters the weekend with a 1-8 record. The Cobras are playing three matches during the weekend, which begins with a Friday trip to NJIT.
