Volleyball Opens EIVA Play With 3-0 Win Over NJIT

Freshman Kendall Ratter made the most of his EIVA debut Friday night. The freshman outside recorded 10 kills, five digs and two blocks to help Princeton post a 3-0 victory over NJIT in Newark, N.J.
The Tigers, who received a match-high 13 kills from senior Cody Kessel, were in control throughout the evening for a 25-14, 25-12, 25-21 win. Princeton is now 3-4 on the season, though it is 1-0 in EIVA play.
Sophomore Junior Oboh continued his stellar early-season play with six kills (on only nine swings) and six blocks, while Alex Schindele-Murayama added four kills and a block from the middle position. Sophomore setter Chris Kennedy had 34 assists, while senior libero Tony Ensbury had four digs.
Junior Devin Stearns hit .500 (5-0-10) for the Tigers, who will make their home debut next weekend with a pair of EIVA matches. Princeton will see its fifth ranked opponent in its first eight matches Friday night with 15th-ranked Harvard comes to Dillon Gym; the Crimson won both regular-season matches last year, though the Tigers avenged both with a 3-1 victory in the EIVA semifinal.
Both matches next weekend will be streamed live on the Ivy League Digital Network.
