Volleyball Opens Three-Match Homestand Tuesday vs. Kean College
April 13, 2015 | Men's Volleyball
The Princeton men's volleyball team will open a critical three-match homestand Tuesday against Kean College, a Division III program from North Jersey. That match will be the final Tiger tune-up before Friday's home showdown with EIVA regular-season champion Penn State.
The Tigers will be thrilled to return to Dillon Gym this week, where they went 5-1 during a six-match homestand through February and early March. Since that stretch ended, the Tigers lost five of their next six road matches, including three to nationally ranked opponents. Now they will look to get back on track just in time for the EIVA postseason.
Princeton is currently alone in second place with a 5-4 EIVA record, though the difference between first place and fifth-place Saint Francis is only one match. The top four teams will compete in the EIVA postseason, and Princeton will host Saint Francis Saturday night to conclude the three-match homestand.
All three matches will be streamed live on the Ivy League Digital Network, and live stats will be available for each.
Kean College (31-4) will be the fifth seed at the 2015 Division III NCAA Championships next weekend. The Cougars recently won the Skyline Conference title for the fourth consecutive year, and they have a 3-2 victory over Juniata College this season. That is the only similar opponent for both teams; Princeton defeated Juniata 3-1 at Dillon Gym in early March.
