Welcome to the final weekend of the men's lacrosse regular season, as Princeton takes to the road to see if it will be able to play at home again.
As the Tigers head to Ithaca to take on Cornell, they know that 1) they've already earned at least a share of the Ivy League championship, and 2) they'll earn an outright championship and host the Ivy League tournament next weekend if they were to defeat the Big Red.
On the other hand, should Princeton lose to Cornell, then the two would share the Ivy League title - with each other, and possibly with Brown and/or Yale, should those two win their final games.
Cornell can still host the tournament with a win and a Dartmouth win over Brown. Should Brown defeat Dartmouth and Cornell defeat Princeton, then the tournament will be held in Providence.
Beyond the Ivy tournament scenarios, this is the 77th meeting in what has been the Ivy League's best men's lacrosse rivalry, and one of the best rivalries the league has had in any sport, and in all of Division I lacrosse for that matter. Princeton's share of the title last week means the 27th Ivy championship in program history. Cornell has 28 and is chasing 29 this weekend. No other team in the league has more than eight.
Add in the fact that this weekend marks the 150th anniversary celebration of the signing of the Cornell charter, and the trip to Ithaca for Princeton will be a big one.
* * *
Princeton has not won a regular season game in Ithaca since 2003. The Tigers did win their last game in Ithaca, which was in the 2013 Ivy League tournament semifinals.
Kip Orban scored the game-winner in overtime in that game to give the Tigers a 14-13 win. Mike MacDonald had seven goals and two assists.
The last two Princeton-Cornell games were played on wildly different neutral sites, at MetLife Stadium in 2013 and at Bethpage High School in 2014.
* * *
Only once in the first 72 meetings between Princeton and Cornell, only once were both teams in double figures in goals. Both teams have now been in double figures in each of the last three meetings.
* * *
There are eight possible outcomes to the three Ivy League games this weekend (Princeton-Cornell, Brown-Dartmouth, Yale-Harvard). They are:
1.) Brown wins- Princeton wins - Yale wins
Seeds: 1. Princeton (5-1) 2. Yale (4-2) 3. Brown (4-2) 4. Cornell (3-3)
2.) Brown loses - Cornell wins - Yale loses

There are eight outcomes to the last three Ivy games. In three of those eight outcomes, the result would be for Princeton and Cornell to meet again in the Ivy League semifinals.
Princeton can be either the first, second or third seed in the tournament. Cornell can be any of the four seeds. Princeton, Cornell and Yale have clinched spots in the tournament. Harvard and Dartmouth cannot make the tournament.
Brown is in the most fascinating position, knowing that it could be anywhere from the host school to not in the tournament at all. Penn can get in, but it needs a win and a Brown loss to Dartmouth.

Mike MacDonald is the only Princeton men's lacrosse player ever to have a season of at least 40 goals and at least 20 assists. Only one player has ever had at least 30 goals and 30 assists in a season - David Tickner in 1976 - and MacDonald is four assists away from joining him.
* * *
With 40 goals and 26 assists this year and 124 goals and 72 assists for his career, MacDonald is moving up every single season and career scoring list at Princeton. He currently ranks:
* fourth in career goals, two away from tying Sean Hartofilis for third
* sixth in career points, four away from tying Tom Schreiber for fifth
* 10th in career assists, two away from tying Matt Striebel for ninth
* 12th in season goals, one away from a four-way tie for ninth and two away from eighth
* sixth in season points, one away from fifth, two away from fourth and eight away from first
* * *
Mike MacDonald is one of two players in Princeton lacrosse history to be in the top 10 in career goals and career assists, along with Tom Schreiber. He and Schreiber are also the only two players in program history with at least 100 career goals and at least 70 career assists.
* * *
Mike MacDonald has had six points in each of his last three games. He had back-to-back five-goal, one-assist games (Lehigh, Dartmouth) and then had two goals and four assists against Harvard.
MacDonald is second in the league and sixth nationally in goals per game and second in the league and fourth nationally in points per game. He is second in the league in assists per game, where he ranks 12th nationally.
* * *
Kip Orban leads all Division I midfielders in goals per game with 3.0 per game (36 in 12 games). He is also 10th overall in Division I and third in the Ivy League in goals per game.
His 36 goals tie him with Josh Sims for the school record for goals in a season by a midfielder.
Orban has 92 career goals, 17th-best at Princeton overall and fourth among midfielders. He trails Tom Schreiber (106), Sims (103) and Lorne Smith (94).
* * *
Mike MacDonald and Kip Orban have combined for 76 of Princeton's 149 goals (51%).
* * *
Gavin McBride is the only Princeton player with at least one point in each game this season.
McBride has 18 goals and 11 assists this season after having no points as a freshman a year ago. Princeton has never before had a player go from no points as a freshman to double figures in goals or assists as a sophomore, let alone both.
* * *
Tyler Blaisdell has started the last three games in goal for the Tigers. He earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors after his 15-save performance against Harvard last weekend.
Blaisdell made 12 saves and allowed 15 goals in his first start at Lehigh. He has an 8.00 goals-against and .590 save percentage since, with wins over Dartmouth and Harvard.
* * *
Cornell ranks fourth nationally and first in the Ivy League in face-off winning percentage at .649. Dominic Massimilian, who has taken 308 of Cornell's 316 face-offs, ranks seventh nationally, also at .649.
Princeton ranks 45th in Division I in face-off winning percentage, at .453.
On the other hand, Princeton ranks fourth nationally and first in the Ivy League in team shooting percentage at .357, while Cornell ranks 51st in team shooting percentage at .262.
Princeton has
Cornell has scored 152 goals on 581 shots. Princeton has scored 149 goals on 416 shots. In other words, Princeton has scored three fewer goals on 165 fewer shots.
* * *
Mike MacDonald has a shooting percentage of .430 (40 goals, 93 shots), while Kip Orban has a shooting percentage of .439 (36 goals, 84 shots).
* * *
Zach Currier has a team-best 59 ground balls, which are actually 20 more than the next highest total. The last time a starting offensive midfielder led the team in ground balls was in 2004, when Drew Casino (also the top face-off man that year) did so.
His 59 ground balls are the most by a Princeton shortstick since Matt Bailer had 68 in 2000.
Currier can face-off, play offensive midfield, play defensive midfield and play the wings on face-offs. He preserved Princeton's 12-11 win over Harvard last week with a caused turnover after a lost face-off with 20 seconds remaining.
* * *
Shortstick defensive midfielder Austin deButts currently leads Princeton in caused turnovers with 17.
Since caused turnovers became an official NCAA stat in 2010, no shortstick has led Princeton in the category.
* * *
Ryan Ambler had four goals against Harvard last weekend. Ambler is one of 15 players in school history with at least 50 career goals and 50 career assists.
Princeton has had a player score at least three goals in a game 23 times in 12 games, and five different players - Ambler, Mike MacDonald, Kip Orban, Gavin McBride and Zach Currier - have done it at least once.
* * *
Kip Orban and Mike MacDonald were both named mid-season second-team All-Americas by Inside Lacrosse.
Neither was a preseason All-America on first-team, second-team, third-team or honorable mention. Both are Major League Lacrosse draftees. Orban was selected in the third round by Charlotte, while Mike MacDonald went in the sixth round to Rochester.
* * *
Will Reynolds, a preseason third-team All-America defenseman, will miss the rest of the season due to an injury he suffered in the season opener against Manhattan. Jake Froccaro, also a preseason third-team All-America, played against Manhattan and Maryland but will also miss the rest of the season due to a concussion.
Mark Strabo had started every game of his career before getting injured after the Manhattan game. He has not played since and will miss the rest of the season.
