Jan. 21 TigerCast: Jeff Kampersal and Sam Shweisky
January 21, 2016 | General, Men's Volleyball, Women's Ice Hockey
Both Jeff Kampersal and Sam Shweisky will lead their programs back into competition during the upcoming post-finals break. Before that happens, both joined this week's edition of TigerCast.
Kampersal evaluated his team's strong play heading into the break — the Tigers have won 10 straight and broke into the national Top 10 — and talked about how to maintain that level of play when the season resumed next week. He also talked about his former captain, Denna Laing '14, who suffered a serious injury during the Outdoor Women's Classic. Kampersal talked about Laing's impact on the program, and a meaningful FaceTime conversation that the team had with Laing following her injury.
Shweisky, who was recently named the head coach of the USA Boys' Youth National Team, will lead a young men's volleyball into its annual California trip, which begins Monday night at top-ranked UCLA. Shweisky gives some thoughts about the national team and his own program, which will be led by four-year starter and captain Devin Stearns.
