Bear Goldstein, Gavin McBride Named 2017 Captains
October 07, 2016 | Men's Lacrosse
Bear Goldstein has started every game of his career and is a two-time All-Ivy League selection. Gavin McBride accomplished something last year that no other Ivy League men's lacrosse player did and that no Princeton men's lacrosse player has in 15 years.
Clearly they've established themselves on the field. And just as clearly, they've made an impact off the field.
Goldstein and McBride, both seniors, will be the 2017 Princeton men's lacrosse captains. Goldstein will be a captain for the second straight year and will join Tom Schreiber, John Cunningham, Jason Doneger and Ryan Boyle as the only two-time captains in the last 20 years of Princeton men's lacrosse.
A defenseman from Dallas, Goldstein is the only current Princeton player to have started every game of his career. He has been a second-team All-Ivy League and honorable mention All-Ivy League selection the last two years.
McBride, from outside Philadelphia, is the only Princeton player with at least one point in every game the last two years. He was Princeton's leading scorer last year with 26 goals, and he finished the season with at least three goals in five straight games, the first time a Princeton player has done that since 2001.
