Princeton Athletics held its third annual "Tiger Athletics Give Day," a 24-hour online giving competition, on Nov. 29 – asking alumni and friends to "Tiger Up" and show their support of Princeton student-athletes and coaches.
"We are so thankful to our alumni, parents and friends for supporting our tremendous Princeton student-athletes and coaches on Tuesday and throughout the year," said Ford Family Director of Athletics Mollie Marcoux Samaan '91. "TAGD is one of my favorite days of the year as we see and hear firsthand the tremendous impact that being a Princeton student-athlete has had on so many of our alumni. Not only do they contribute critical funds in support of our Athletics Friends Groups and the Princeton Varsity Club, but they connect with our current student-athletes, coaches and former teammates over the phone, through social media and by showing their steadfast commitment to Princeton Athletics."
Princeton's Athletics Friends Groups competed against each other in two main competitions – total number of donors (across three different brackets) and total dollars raised. A total of $195,000 in bonus funds provided by the Princeton Varsity Club (PVC) Board of Directors & Advisory Committee served as the catalyst for these spirited competitions. Individual Athletics Friends Groups also issued sport-specific challenges sponsored by generous individuals or groups of individuals.
"The money raised on TAGD is critical to our continued success both on and off the field of play and we could not be more appreciative of the generosity of Tiger Nation and of the efforts made by our student-athletes, coaches, staff, campus colleagues and alumni volunteers to make this day so successful," commented Marcoux Samaan.
Highlights of the day are noted below:
