Volleyball Falls To George Mason; Stearns Paces Tigers With 15 Kills

Senior Devin Stearns recorded 15 kills and hit .481, while sophomore Kendall Ratter added 11 kills, but the Princeton men's volleyball team was unable to knock off a streaking George Mason team Saturday night in Fairfax, Va.
Princeton had its best opportunity in the opening set, but Mason fought off two set balls in a 27-25 win. The Patriots took control from there and grabbed their eighth EIVA win with victories of 25-18 and 25-21.
Stearns, the All-EIVA outside who ranks in the Top 8 in kills within the league, had one of his best matches of the season. Besides his efficient hitting (15-2-27), Stearns added four kills and a block. Junior Jonah May paced the offense with 32 assists, while freshman Corry Short led the defense with five digs.
Sophomore Mike Fuerst added five kills and two blocks. Princeton will conclude its season next weekend when it heads to Harvard and Sacred Heart.
