Princeton Well-Represented In Major League Lacrosse Playoffs

Princeton University will be represented by one, two, three or four players in next weekend's Major League Lacrosse championship game in Frisco, Texas. This weekend's semifinals will determine that number.
The Ohio Machine, led by 2016 MLL Most Valuable Player Tom Schreiber, hosts the Florida Launch, the only team in the postseason without a Princeton alum. Schreiber led the league in assists this year with 26, despite missing the first four games of the 14-game season while finishing the National Lacrosse League season with the Toronto Rock, with whom he'd earn league Rookie of the Year honors. Schreiber also had 18 goals for a 44-point season that was 13th overall in the league and fourth among middies. The three middies ahead of him all played in all 14 games.
The other semifinal will see Kip Orban and the Rochester Rattlers travel to take on the Denver Outlaws. Because of a preseason football game, the Rattlers-Outlaws game will be played at Barton Stadium, on the campus of the University Denver.
Orban scored seven goals on the season for the Rattlers in the midfield.
Denver features Zach Currier, who led all Major League Lacrosse rookies with 15 assists, while also adding 11 goals as he made a smooth impact to the professional game. Currier was, unsurprisingly, second among offensive middies in the league in ground balls, despite playing only nine games.
Ryan Ambler has also been starting for the Outlaws on attack in the second half of the season and has seven goals and four assists for the year. Gavin McBride earned MLL Rookie of the Week honors with three goals in the one game he played this season for the Outlaws.
