No. 4 UCLA Earns 14-8 Decision Over No. 11 Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. – On a nationally televised game on ESPNU, the No. 4 UCLA Bruins defeated the No. 11 Princeton Tigers, 14-8, at DeNunzio Pool on Sunday afternoon.
The Highlights:
UCLA scored five of the six goals in the second quarter.
Princeton was held without a goal for over six minutes between the second and third quarters.
UCLA posted the last three goals of the game to keep its distance from Princeton.
Jordan Colina's six goals tied a career high.
Princeton and UCLA played an even first quarter as Jordan Colina's goal with 1:40 remaining in the frame set the score at 2-all.
A tally from Matt Payne briefly slowed the Bruins' rush as the UCLA ripped off five of six tallies to take a 7-3 advantage into the intermission. The road team looked to have pulled away with the first two goals of the second half, but Princeton ended the quarter on a 3-1 run to get within three after 24 minutes.
Head coach Luis Nicolao's team stayed within three on two occasions in the final quarter, but UCLA put the contest away with three goals over the last four minutes.
