No. 11 Princeton Earns Two Wins, Improves To 6-0

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 11 Princeton Tigers defeated the Chapman Panthers, 15-6, and the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays, 9-5, at DeNunzio Pool on Friday evening to improve their record to 6-0. The Tigers will take on Santa Clara tomorrow at 11:15 a.m.

The Highlights:
Princeton ended the game on a six-goal run.
During that stretch, Chapman was held scoreless for almost 10 minutes.
Nine different Tigers scored in the game.
Christopher Xi and Matt Payne had hat tricks in the game.
Princeton and Chapman had an evenly played first half that featured 11 goals, five lead changes and four ties. The Tigers never trailed, but couldn't pull away, taking a 6-5 advantage into the intermission. Neither team scored in the final four minutes of the second quarter.
The Tigers looked to have pulled away, posting the first three goals of the second half, but a tally from the Panthers set the contest at 9-6 with 1:47 remaining in the third stanza. Princeton's defense along with goalie Vojislav Mitrovic would hold the visitors off the scoreboard the rest of the way.

A defensive battle through the first quarter and a half, the Tigers posted the only four goals of the meeting, holding Johns Hopkins without a goal for the first 12 minutes and 30 seconds. After scoring a tally, the Blue Jays, again, were held scoreless for another 10 minutes as Princeton held a 7-2 advantage after three frames. Johns Hopkins got within four with just under five minutes remaining, but Colina's third goal of the night out the game out of the reach.
