#6 Men's Squash Puts Five-Match Streak On The Line Wednesday At 5th-Ranked Penn

Head coach Sean Wilkinson and his team has gone through the pain of a long, thorough rebuild, and the belief was that this was the season when Princeton would start to see the benefits of the process. The numbers tell the story so far … over the last two regular seasons, the Princeton men's squash team won a total of seven regular season matches.
Through the first half of this season, the Tigers have already won seven.
Princeton (7-1, 2-0 Ivy) moved up to sixth in the latest national rankings, its highest position since the 2013 Ivy League season, and the Tigers can make a move for the Top 5 Wednesday night when they head to the Ringe Squash Courts in Philadelphia for a 7 pm showdown with the fifth-ranked Penn Quakers (8-2, 2-0 Ivy). The Quakers have won three of the last four in this series, including each of the last two in Ringe, but comparable results this season could indicate a thriller coming up Wednesday night.
Princeton has a winning record from every member of its starting lineup this season, including undefeated freshman No. 1 Youssef Ibrahim, who has won seven of his eight matches by a 3-0 score. Ibrahim could be playing for Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors Wednesday night when he takes on Penn freshman Andrew Douglas, whose 13-11 win in the fifth helped the Quakers rally past Rochester earlier in the season.
All-America sophomore Adhitya Raghavan is 7-1 this season at the #2 spot, and he has won 15 straight individual games at the position. Junior Clark Doyle, who overcame a tough sohomore season of injuries, has thrived this season with a 6-0 mark, while both senior co-captain Abhimanyu Shah and freshman Alex Engstrom have combined to go 15-0 at the bottom third of the lineup.
The winning team Wednesday night will take serious momentum into a New England road trip over Super Bowl weekend, when reigning Ivy League champion Harvard and a dangerous Dartmouth team await.
