Véronneau Has Four-Point Night as No. 19 Princeton Ties Harvard
November 03, 2018 | Men's Ice Hockey
Senior All-American Max Véronneau factored into all four Princeton goals as the No. 19 ranked Tigers skated to a 4-4 draw at Harvard on Saturday evening.
He now has 114 career points after matching his personal best of four-points in a game. Linemate Ryan Kuffner scored twice and now has 112 point as the pair continue to jockey for position on the Princeton all-time scoring list.
Véronneau picked the puck off a Crimson stick and skated in for an unassisted tally and making it look easy as Princeton took a 1-0 lead at 3:41 of the first period.
Harvard tallied twice in a span of 2:01 to take the lead. Jack Rathbone scored through traffic on a shot from the left point at 5:30 and Henry Bowlby took advantage of the hard work by Casey Dornbach by putting in a back door goal at 7:31.
Senior All-American Ryan Kuffner was able to knot the game at 2-2 before the intermission with his first of two - nearly identical - goals on the night.
Jack Drury regained the lead for the Crimson at 7:26 converting on a Princeton's bench minor.
Véronneau came up big on the Princeton's penalty kill as well, intercepting the puck along the boards, taking it down the right side before a centering pass for Derek Topatigh for a short-handed goal at 15:55. For the defenseman Topatigh it marks his third goal of the weekend.
Kuffner put the Tigers back on top with another power-play goal less than two minutes later.
Harvard's Dornbach scored game-tying goal and the only goal of the third when he caught Ferland on his back during a scrum and poked the puck free for the tally.
