Robertson Named To USILA Team Of The Week
April 17, 2018 | Men's Lacrosse
Phillip Robertson joined a very short list that now numbers three and in doing so joined another list of 10.
With seven goals against Siena and six more against Dartmouth last week, Robertson became the third Princeton men's lacrosse player in the last 25 years to have back-to-back games of at least six goals, joining his current teammate Austin Sims (who did it last year) and Jesse Hubbard (who did it twice in 1996).
As a result, Robertson was named to the USILA Team of the Week, which honors the top 10 players in lacrosse from the previous week. Robertson is the second Princeton player this year to be named to the team, along with teammate Michael Sowers, who has done it twice.
Robertson scored his 13 goals on just 15 shots, for an extraordinary .867 shooting percentage. Well, perhaps that's not the right word to use, since Robertson leads Division I in shooting percentage this season at .630.
A sophomore from Salem, Va., Robertson also leads Princeton in goals scored, with 29. He's taken only five shots all year that have been saved by a goalie.
Princeton defeated Siena 17-11 and Dartmouth 24-13. Robertson played basically three quarters of each game.
Robertson scored three goals on three shots as a freshman, giving him 32 career goals on 49 career shots, for a ..653 career shooting percentage.
Princeton is at Harvard Saturday at 1.
