Sowers One Of 17 Named To USILA Player Of The Year Watchlist
April 18, 2018 | Men's Lacrosse
The leader in Division I in points per game and assists per game figures to be in the conversation for national Player of the Year honors.
That's certainly the case for Princeton sophomore Michael Sowers, who is currently on top of Division I in both of those statistical categories. And, not surprisingly, Sowers was one of 17 players named to the USILA Player of the Year Watchlist, which was announced Wednesday morning.
Sowers leads Division I with 6.55 points per game and 4.36 assists per game, and he has already tied the Princeton record for assists in a season with 48 with two regular-season games still to play. His 72 points rank fourth for a single-season at Princeton, and at his current pace he would break his own school record of 82, which he set a year ago as a freshman.
The USILA National Player of the Year will be announced during the Final Four in Foxboro, Mass.
