World Championship Update - Schreiber's Six-Point Day Helps U.S. To Top Seed

Tom Schreiber had three goals and three assists as the United States defeated Scotland 18-2 Monday to clinch the top seed in the upcoming playoff rounds at the FIL World Lacrosse Championships in Netanya, Israel.
Schreiber, the 2014 Princeton grad and two-time reigning Major League Lacrosse MVP, now has eight goals and six assists in five games for the U.S. team. He currently is second on the team in assists and third in points.
The U.S. team finishes pool play Tuesday against England, featuring 2017 Princeton grad Alistair Berven, at 6 pm in Israel, which would be 11 am in the Eastern time zone. The game can be seen live on ESPNU.
After that game, the U.S. will not play again until Thursday's semifinals, when the Americans will likely take on the winner of the game between Australia and whoever wins between Israel and Ireland.
Canada locked down the other automatic bid to the semifinals with a 10-5 win over the Iroquois nation Monday. Canada will play Thursday as well, probably against the winner of the game between the Iroqouis and whoever wins between Japan and Puerto Rico.
Zach Currier has two goals and an assist through four games for Canada, with seven ground balls as he plays mostly defensive midfield.
After its game against the U.S. Tuesday, Berven and England are likely to play the loser of the Israel-Ireland game in the consolation rounds. Berven, a defenseman, has played in all four games for the English so far.
Princeton is also being represented in Israel by Andrew Song of China and Austin deButts of Argentina.
Song had six ground balls for China in its 15-14 loss to Mexico, while deButts had his fifth goal of the tournament in a 13-9 loss to Greece.
