No. 12 Harvard Defeats No. 18 Princeton, 12-9

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 18 Princeton Tigers dropped a 12-9 decision to the No. 12 Harvard Crimson at DeNunzio Pool on Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers started off quickly with the first two goals of the contest from Mitchell Cooper and Pierce Maloney. A Harvard goal with five seconds left in the quarter cut its deficit to one, 3-2.
Harvard posted a four-goal run to go up 5-3 at the 5:29 mark of the second stanza. The home squad fought all the way back to tie the contest at 6-all when Christopher Xi recorded the Tigers' sixth tally.
Keller Maloney registered the first goal of the second half, but Harvard snagged the last three goals of the third stanza to take a 9-7 lead into the final eight minutes. Princeton could not get closer than two the rest of the way, losing its first Northeast Water Polo Conference meeting of the year.
Princeton (6-9 overall) finishes the home weekend with Brown (10 a.m.) and MIT (3 p.m.) tomorrow.
