PRINCETON, N.J. – The reigning Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) champion Princeton University men's volleyball team has added Christian Rupert to its coaching staff, as anounced by head coach Sam Shweisky Wednesday.
"I have always admired Christian's work ethic ever since I watched him play in high school and club and got to know him and his family through the recruiting process when he was a prospect," said Shweisky. "After a successful career at Brigham Young University (BYU) and playing professionally overseas, we are thrilled to welcome Christian into our gym this season. He will be a great asset to our middle blockers and working with coach Shawaryn on our block and defensive schemes. Welcome to Princeton Christian!"
Rupert, a native of Chalfont, Pennsylvania, was a member of the men's volleyball team at BYU from 2015 until 2018. He will further add to the Tigers' winning culture; during his time at BYU his Cougar teams made to it NCAA Championship Matches in 2017 and 2016 along with the NCAA Semifinals in 2018.
His BYU squads were also the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Regular Season champions in 2018, 2017 and 2016 along with the MPSF Tournament champions in 2018 and 2016.
Most recently, Rupert played professional volleyball in Croatia for Mladost Ribola Kaštela.
