O’Connell of Women’s Volleyball Named All-Region Honorable Mention

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Senior Maggie O'Connell of the Princeton University women's volleyball team capped off a stellar career for the Tigers by being named American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-Region for the Northeast Region.
It is the third All-Region honor of O'Connell's career, as she was also named All-Region in 2018 and 2017. She was also named first team All-Ivy League this season and joined the 1,000-kill club in Princeton's win over Cornell University on Friday, November 1 in Ithaca, New York.
She finished second on the team in kills with 250, second in total blocks with 55 and third in hitting percentage at .352. On Tuesday, September 17 she led Princeton with a season-high 22 kills on a .444 hitting percentage against the No. 14 University of Oregon inside Dillon Gymnasium.
O'Connell helped the Tigers earn a share of the Ivy League title and their third NCAA Tournament appearance in four years in 2019 as Princeton went 17-8 and 10-2 in conference play.
