Since the inaugural event in 2017, the Ivy League men's and women's basketball tournaments have been held on campus sites, and the league has announced that plan will continue through at least 2025.
As part of a rotation that will include every team in the league, Princeton will host the 2021 Ivy League Tournaments, the league office announced Wednesday morning. After the first two years were at Penn, the 2019 event coming up March 16-17 will be at Yale before heading to Harvard in 2020, with March 14-15 as the dates for next year's event.
After the 2021 event, the tournaments will head to Brown in 2022, Cornell in 2023, Dartmouth in 2024 and Columbia in 2025.
Both Princeton teams are in strong contention to make the 2019 Ivy League Tournaments, with the men tied for second place at 7-3 and the women tied for first at 8-2. Ticket information for the 2019 event is available here.
The tournaments will continue to feature the top four men's and women's teams competing for the right to represent the Ivy League in the NCAA Basketball Championships. As in previous years, the winners of the regular season will be recognized as Ivy League champions.
"Each Ivy League campus presents its own aura and distinctive traits," Ivy League Executive Director Robin Harris said. "With this rotation, we look forward to sharing the atmosphere and energy of our basketball tournaments with each of our campus communities and giving all of our devoted fanbases an opportunity to experience Ivy Madness in their own venue."
Princeton has won one of the two titles in each of the first two Ivy League Tournaments, with the men winning in 2017 and the women in 2018.
