Princeton Drops First EIVA Match 3-1 At Saint Francis
March 02, 2019 | Men's Volleyball
Despite 15 kills from George Huhmann and 13 apiece from classmates Greg Luck and Parker Dixon, the Princeton men's volleyball team wasn't able to extend its EIVA win streak to seven Saturday in Loretto, Pa. The streaking Saint Francis Red Flash extended its home win streak to four matches over Princeton with a 3-1 home win, and now stand one match behind the Tigers at the midway point of the EIVA season.
Princeton, which knocked off Penn State in State College Friday night, remains alone in first place in the league with a 6-1 record, and the Tigers will play a home-and-home series against NJIT this week, starting Tuesday night with a 7 pm home showdown on ESPN+.
Huhmann capped a terrific weekend with 15 kills, three digs, two blocks and two aces, and he hit .400 in the four-set loss. Luck hit .346 and added five digs and four blocks, while Dixon had a pair of aces in the loss. Senior Kendall Ratter had five kills and six digs, while sophomore Joe Kelly had 43 assists against the Red Flash.
While both teams split comfortable victories in the first two sets, the Red Flash grabbed a pair of narrow 26-24 victories in the last two to improve to 5-2 in EIVA play.
