PRINCETON, N.J. – The banner season for the Princeton Tigers continued on Tuesday as they collected five All-EIVA members while George Huhmann and Sam Shweisky picked up individual conference honors, the organization announced.
Huhmann became the first player in program history to be named the Uvaldo Acosta Memorial EIVA Player of the Year while Shweisky was picked as Bob Sweeney EIVA Coach of the Year for the second time in his career (2010).
George becoming the first Princeton Volleyball player to ever win the Uvaldo Acosta Memorial EIVA Player of the Year award is very special," said Shweisky. "George has worked very hard to improve every aspect of his game and when we have needed him most, he has been at his best. We are so proud of George and all that he has accomplished this season. This is an extraordinary honor for George as all of the players who have won this prestigious award before him are incredibly talented. Congratulations George! We are excited to see what you can do this weekend!"
Huhmann is currently on a streak of five straight games with at least 10 kills. The former All-American has been incredible this season as he ranks in the EIVA's top 10 in total kills (337, third), kills per set (3.37, third), hitting percentage (.348, third), points (403, third), total blocks (83, fourth), points per set (4.1, fourth), total attacks (653, fifth), block assists (74, fifth) and solo blocks (nine, 10th).
