Hartley '23 and U.S. Squad Finish 15th at FIVB Boys U19 World Championship

TUNISIA – James Harley '23 and the United States Boys' Youth National Team finished 15th at the FIVB Boys U19 World Championship.

In pool action, the United States went 2-2, earning sweeps over the Dominican Republic and Nigeria, but dropping contests over Korea and Russia.

Hartley's squad fell to Argentina in tournament action, falling into the loser's bracket. The United States lost in matchups to Brazil and Germany before defeating Chinese Taipei in three sets to earn 15th place.

Hartley along with George Huhmann and Parker Dixon represented Princeton this summer on the international stage. Cody Kessel '15 also was a member of the United States unit at the Pan American Cup.

Princeton went 18-13 during the 2019 season, reaching the NCAA Quarterfinals. The team won its first ever NCAA contest, first EIVA title since 1998 and finished tied for No. 12 in the final AVCA Division I-II Coaches' Poll.
