Princeton Athletics 2018-19 Year In Review
August 05, 2019 | General
The 2018-19 athletic year saw Princeton teams combine to win 12 Ivy League championships and 15 league championships overall while finishing 30th in Division I - ahead of 38 Power Five Conference schools - in the Learfied IMG College Directors' Cup, which measures overall athletic success based on NCAA championship participation and performance. The 30th-place finish was Princeton's best since a program-best 21st in the 2001-02 athletic year and made Princeton the highest-finishing Ivy League school for the 23rd time in the 26 years the Cup has been awarded.
Beyond just the on-field success, Princeton Athletics also stayed true to its core mission of Education Through Athletics and Competitive Excellence, with an emphasis on the overall educational experience of the 1,000 varsity athletes, surrounded by a loyal group of supporters known as "The Team Around The Team."
