Marquardt & Venema Named GPT Athletes of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – After helping the Princeton University women's swimming & diving team win the 2019-20 Ivy League Championship and tying for High Point Swimmer of the Meet, freshmen duo Ellie Marquardt and Nicole Venema were named GPT Athlete of the Week, presented by Coach USA.
The duo each earned 96 points and tied with Harvard's Felicia Pasadyn for High Point Swimmer of the Meet.
Marquardt earned first-place finishes in the 500, 1,000 and 1,650 freestyle events while Venema won the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events.
Marquardt set a new school and Ivy League record in the 500 freestyle while Venema also set a new school records in the 200 freestyle and was part of the team, along with Marquardt, that set a new school record in the 800 freestyle relay. Venema was also part of the 200 medley relay team that set a new school record.
