Fencing Teams in Contention for Ivy Titles Entering Sunday

Both Princeton fencing teams are in contention for Ivy League titles as the Ivy round-robin competition at Harvard enters Sunday's matchups.
Princeton's men swept their three matches Saturday, defeating Brown 24-3, Yale 17-10, and Penn 18-9 to stand at 3-0. That puts Princeton even with Harvard and one match better than 2-1 Columbia with Penn (1-2) and Brown (0-3) and Yale (0-3) completing the standings.
The Tiger men will open Sunday against Columbia at 10 a.m. before facing Harvard at 2:45 p.m.
Princeton had three of the top five saber fencers on the men's side after the first day, with Zachary Johnson at 8-1, Daniel Kwak at 5-2 and Nicholas No at 6-3. Harvard's Erwin Cai stands at 7-0 as the lone undefeated saber fencer entering Sunday.
The Tigers had similar success in foil with three in the top seven and Julian Knodt leading the way at 8-0 alongside Harvard's Geoffrey Tourette as the lone unbeatens in that weapon. Dylan Kim leads all épée competitors at 8-1 with Finn Miller and Wesley Yuan at 6-3 after the first day.
On the women's side, Princeton stands at 2-1, even with Cornell and behind 3-1 Harvard and 3-0 Columbia. As with the men, the women will open with Columbia at 10 a.m. before facing Cornell at 12 p.m. and Harvard at 2:45 p.m.

Princeton's women opened the day with a 21-6 win over Brown before adding a 19-8 win over Yale. Penn, though, dealt Princeton a 15-12 defeat to put the Tigers in chase mode entering Sunday.
