Nelsen of No. 11 Men’s Volleyball Honored as EIVA Defensive Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – Sophomore Jerod Nelsen of the No. 11 Princeton University men's volleyball team has added another weekly honor as he was named the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Defensive Player of the Week.

Nelsen was stellar in the Tigers' two wins last weekend; in Princeton's 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-21) win over Sacred Heart University he led the match in kills with 14 on a .478 hitting percentage along with a team-high nine digs and three blocks. In the Tigers' 3-0 (25-20, 26-24, 25-17) triumph over Harvard University he had nine kills, five digs, two service aces and two blocks.

This is Nelsen's third weekly honor of the season; on Monday, February 3 he was honored as EIVA Offensive Player of the Week and on Tuesday, February 4 he was named American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
